After experiencing dramatic ups and downs since its inception in 1985 the firm has grown significantly without adapting its internal processes. Prospect City was asked to analyze current business processes and technology and offer improvements. After a successful internal re-launch, we were asked to stay on in a role as virtual COO, leading all internal staff, finance, technology and research.

Stein was asked to advise the firm on improvements to its internal operation. In addition, Stein was asked to introduce the firm to a potential merger target and design an infrastructure for the new combined entity, including a financial business model. Based on the Velvet platform we developed a custom system proprietary to the client’s needs, including integrated time management, expense reporting, employee directory, help desk support, etc. In addition, the client requested permanent license to the system, isolated hardware, massive data migration. In addition the client asked that we host the system on their behalf. Roll out included training of 45 employees and ongoing support.

Serving an internal corporate recruiter, Prospect City was asked to provide external research support and data management via a Velvet database. The research team supporting the organization is extremely well-regarded and professional, interacting with senior executive candidates. The project lowered the organization’s average cost-per-hire from $65,000 per hire to $16,000 per hire. The ongoing project is controlled by the private equity firm allowing them redirect our team and turn services up or down at the firm's discretion.

Recruiting Research Technology

After having success using our exchange hub to identify outsourced researchers, the organization asked us to build a private research hub to centralize their research department online. The organization’s 110-person recruiting department was distributed around the country. After building a successful system the organization asked us to expand the system by adding a diversity-focused hub to support their diversity initiatives. Finally the organization asked us to add an employee-accessible site to support the employee referral network.
